The Elephant Legacy | A Collector’s Ensemble of Artisan Elephant Figurines
This bundle gathers fourteen handcrafted elephant figurines from the De Rosa Collections, carved and painted by hand in Uruguay. Each sculpture is finished with rich enamel glazes, detailed textures, and elegant touches of gold and platinum.
Every elephant in the set stands as a symbol of wisdom, memory, protection, and strength - traits long associated with these noble creatures across cultures and generations.
Though unified by craftsmanship, no two are the same. The colors, expressions, and designs vary, giving the set visual rhythm and narrative depth. It’s a legacy in miniature.
Indian Elephant & Baby Indian Elephant
Dimensions: 09×08×14 cm & 08×05×09 cm | Issue Year: 2022
Draped in ornate designs and decorated with rich blue, red, and gold enamel, these two elephants stand tall and proud. Their trunks are raised - an auspicious sign of good luck and forward movement. The larger one bears elaborate patterns, exemplifying the ceremonial splendor of temple elephants in India. The smaller companion mirrors this design in lighter tones, like a student walking in the elder’s shadow.
Their upright trunks, curved ears, and confident stances evoke leadership and spiritual presence. These pieces carry the air of cultural reverence and celebratory energy.
Indian Elephant 2 & Baby Indian Elephant 2
Dimensions: 12×08×09 cm & 08×07×07 cm | Issue Year: 2019
This pair balances warmth and strength. The adult wears heavy patterning across its ears and shoulders, with bold swirls of navy and copper enamel. Its form is grounded, wide, and steady. The baby, smaller but alert, lifts its head in mimicry. Its lighter palette softens its presence, evoking learning and trust.
These two feel grounded and familial. Their bond is clear; not just in size, but in how they echo each other in pose and expression. A representation of knowledge passed down, of shared paths.
Sumatran Elephant & Baby Sumatran Elephant
Dimensions: 07×05×12 cm & 07×05×08 cm | Issue Year: 2022
These elephants are rendered in a cooler color scheme (blues and soft greys) with textural cross-hatching that mimics the wrinkled skin of the species. There’s a quiet nobility to their faces. You see the wisdom in the eyes, the thought in the lines.
The baby figure, nestled beside the larger one, feels cautious yet curious. Its gaze is directed upward, its stance a little less sure. This contrast gives the duo personality and makes the scene feel real.
Mini Elephant I, III & IV
Dimensions: 04×04×04 cm | Issue Years: 2014, 2017, 2019
Small in size but rich in detail, these miniatures carry bold enamel accents and wide expressions. Their raised trunks and compact shapes make them ideal as small tokens of good luck or shelf companions. Despite their tiny stature, they bear the same handmade polish as the larger pieces: carved textures, distinct ear curves, and layered glazes.
These three are variations on the theme - different stances, color palettes, and energies - but all express the strength of the elephant in condensed form. They add variety and charm to the collection.
Samburu Elephant & Baby Samburu Elephant
Dimensions: 09×07×13 cm & 08×06×08 cm | Issue Year: 2014
These elephants are deeper in tone, finished with navy and crimson touches. Their posture is tall and upright, with the adult elephant wearing layered, patterned adornments that resemble traditional beadwork or woven fabrics from East Africa. The baby shares the same color base, with subtle nods to tribal textile designs.
They have an ancestral quality. The visual language of these two is one of tradition, heritage, and grounding. Their forms suggest stories older than memory.
White Elephant & Baby White Elephant
Dimensions: 11×06×10 cm & 09×05×06 cm | Issue Year: 2009
In many cultures, the white elephant is sacred, a symbol of peace, purity, and divine favor. These two figurines are sculpted in pale ivory with subtle gold accents. Their texture is softer, their presence quieter. The adult elephant has a serene gaze and steady poise. The baby feels protected, close by, nestled but alert.
Their minimalist color palette sets them apart in the bundle. They represent clarity and grace. In a set filled with richness and color, these two offer stillness and spiritual depth.
Elephants carry deep meaning across the globe. In India, they are a sign of wisdom and spiritual protection. In Africa, they symbolize leadership, family, and endurance. In Buddhist thought, the white elephant is tied to purity and sacred power. This collection blends those meanings into one rich story.
Their raised trunks bring luck. Their eyes seem to watch. Their sizes vary, representing generations of elders, parents, children. This bundle tells a story about strength not as force, but as presence, for it’s not just about what elephants carry, but it’s about what they pass on.
Each figurine stands as a quiet monument to care, patience, and memory.
