Meet the Imari Celadon Tenmoku Chawan, a handcrafted 12.5 cm bowl, 7.8 cm tall, straight from Imari's artisan traditions. You’ve probably felt it: plain bowls leave your mind flat, your tea ritual just routine. That’s the pain. This bowl changes that.
Imagine lifting this handmade Japanese pottery in your hands: its exterior flows from pale celadon at the rim into richer teal, every inch alive with crackle glaze - tiny rivers of crazing that shimmer when light hits. The silhouette is gentle and rounded, with a sturdy recessed foot and an artisan’s signature carved beneath.
Inside, the smooth jade-green interior feels like water pooled in a moss garden. It’s a vintage Japanese ceramic bowl with Tenmoku glaze vibes - deep, reflective, slightly unpredictable - reminding you of the ancient Song dynasty TK Jian ware style that inspired the Japanese “Tenmoku” aesthetic.
This chawan tea bowl is an enrapturing scene in your daily life, pouring hot matcha that flirts with the glaze, steam rising against that pale rim. It ties your morning pause to centuries of Japanese tea culture and wabi sabi pottery: imperfect, serene, deeply human. You feel slow beauty.
Worried about quality or authenticity?
It’s vetted: 12.5 cm across, 7.8 cm tall, from Imari (Saga), each imperfection deliberate. No two of these collectible Japanese tea bowls are the same, and this one bears its identity in that artist-stamped foot. The weight is balanced and solid enough for substance, light enough for daily use. It speaks assurance, not showiness.
You don’t need to collect antiques to feel this depth. Whether it’s your first matcha bowl or you're adding to your collection of traditional Japanese ceramics, this bowl meets you there; with warmth and quiet confidence.
Use it for tea, savor a small salad, or set it on display to catch your eye mid-day. It’s a simple change, but one that turns routine into ritual.
Bring the Kyo Celadon Tenmoku Chawan home. Let your mornings feel more considered. Let your collection hold stories. It’s yours to explore.
