This extra-large Maneki Neko is a handcrafted Edo Art Doll made by Kakinuma Dolls, a workshop that has mastered the Japanese Kimekomi doll-making technique while blending it with contemporary materials. Each figure is assembled by skilled artisans, ensuring quality and individuality in every piece.

Unlike common ceramic or plastic versions, this Maneki Neko is crafted with a urethane resin base for durability, then wrapped in high-grade Japanese fabric, giving it both structural strength and a soft, textile finish. The raised paw is a traditional gesture of welcome, symbolizing the invitation of luck, wealth, and good fortune.

The Extra-Large Nishijin-ori Silk Variant features Kyoto-made silk brocade with intricate woven patterns in warm golden tones. The eyes are Swarovski crystals, adding lifelike depth and sparkle, while the collar bell incorporates a power stone, believed to attract positive energy.

The Extra-Large Yuzen Black Variant showcases a striking black base covered in vibrant floral Yuzen dye patterns. The bold contrast of the dark background with multicolored flowers makes this piece visually distinct. Like the silk variant, it is finished with Swarovski crystal eyes and a textured bell.

Symbolism and Use
The Maneki Neko (beckoning cat) is one of Japan’s most iconic good luck charms. Traditionally, the raised left paw welcomes people, while the raised right paw brings financial success. In shops and restaurants, it is often placed near the entrance to attract customers, but it is equally suited for homes and offices to invite prosperity and happiness. These extra-large editions make a strong visual statement while carrying deep cultural meaning, making them ideal as opening gifts, celebratory presents, or standout decorative pieces.
