The Ruru vase is a finely crafted example of Edo Kiriko cut glass, designed and hand-cut by master craftsman Tatsuya Nemoto for Kagami Crystal. The name Ruru conveys the idea of something long, fine, and continuous - an image reflected in the flowing vertical cuts that stretch from the base to the rim.

The surface features a combination of elongated diamond-like cuts and delicate kiku tsunagi (linked chrysanthemum) patterns. These are layered so that they appear to weave over and under each other like threads, creating depth and movement in the glass. As light passes through, the vase sparkles with a refined brilliance, and the gold-tinted undertones add warmth to its elegance.

Edo Kiriko, developed in the early 19th century in Tokyo (formerly Edo), is known for its precise geometric cutting and the way it enhances the refractive qualities of crystal. Each cut on this vase is made by hand, using skills passed down through generations. The result is both a decorative art piece and a functional vessel for floral arrangements.

Standing 19 cm tall, the Ruru vase works well as a centerpiece on dining tables, shelves, or alcoves. It is also a gift that carries cultural meaning, symbolizing refinement, craftsmanship, and the timeless beauty of Japanese artisan traditions.
