This Edo Kiriko crystal vase, titled Light of a Sword, is crafted by Junichi Nabetani, a recognized master of traditional Japanese glass cutting. Produced by Kagami Crystal in Ibaraki, Japan, it reflects the precision and artistry of a craft that has been refined for centuries. The piece is cut from high-quality crystal glass, giving it both weight and clarity.

The design features two hallmark Edo Kiriko patterns: kiku tsunagi (chrysanthemum link) and octagonal kagome (woven bamboo). The chrysanthemum motif symbolizes longevity, renewal, and elegance in Japanese culture, while the kagome pattern represents protection and harmony. Together, they convey both beauty and meaning, making this vase a vessel of cultural heritage.

The vivid cobalt blue base color is revealed through deep and precise cuts, producing a striking interplay of light and shade. As light passes through the glass, the patterns create shimmering reflections, enhancing the natural appeal of any floral arrangement. Even without flowers, it stands as an art piece suitable for display in both traditional and modern interiors.

Functionally, this vase is ideal for fresh flowers, seasonal arrangements, or as a centerpiece. It also serves as a distinguished gift for weddings, anniversaries, and significant milestones, particularly for recipients who value craftsmanship and cultural authenticity.

Kagami Crystal, established in 1934, is Japan’s leading producer of Edo Kiriko glassware. Their works have been presented to heads of state and royalty worldwide. Each vase is hand-cut, ensuring that no two pieces are identical, and the craftsmanship ensures durability when handled with care.
